Acetal (POM) is considered a high performance plastic. This particular plastic has excellent chemical resistance, solvent resistance, wear properties and is self lubricating. The natural color of Acetal is white. This material, in its natural state, is heavier than water; meaning it will sink in water. The maximum continuous operating temperature in air for Acetal is 180°F.Manufactured from Polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as acetal, polyacetal & polyformaldehyde.Commonly known as Delrin, Celcon, Hostaform, Duracon, Kepital, Lupital & Ultraform Wide operating temerature from -40°C to 150°C. High mechanical strength & rigidity; Low friction & self-lubricating in use; Very tough & durable; possesses high impact & abrasion resistance and long-term fatigue endurance;High heat resistance;Excellent resistance to petroleum based solvents & fuels, moisture & all neutral chemicals;Good electrical insulating properties; Minimal water absorption;Excellent machinability;Chemically inert; Colour may vary: Generally pure white but may be off-white or light cream in colour depending on origin. |
